Treasures from the Late Middle Ages

From June 9 to September 17, 2017

Presentation

Starting June 9, the château de Châteaubriant is home to the splendid exhibition Treasures from the Late Middle Ages, uniting remarkable works of art from the musée Dobrée in Nantes and the Musée Cluny (National museum of the Middle Ages) in Paris.

All 80 objects on display illustrate the refinement of the way of life at the end of the XVth and the beginning of the XVIth century. A path from the religious space (the church) to the domestic space (the lord’s residence) where tapestries, sculptures, manuscripts, stained-glass windows and goldsmithery shine bright.

From the chapel to the castle, come discover the life of aristocrats and middle-class people at the end of the Middle Ages!
