The dress of Françoise de Foix by Lamyne M.

From 9 march to 29 september 2019

Presentation

Following his visit to Chateau de Châteaubriant in 2018 as part of the exhibition « Les grandes robes royales », the artist Lamyne M. was seduced and inspired by an emblematic character of the place: Françoise de Foix (1495-1537) famous at the King’s Court for her beauty.

This last not queen, but royal favorite, mistress of Francis 1st is honored this year by the creation of a new giant dress by Lamyne M.

The making of this dress is the result of a partnership with the designer, Nelly Boucherie, and the joint work of local associations, Rencontres et Relais Accueil Proximité, and the college of La Ville aux Roses of Châteaubriant.

Nourished by numerous exchanges, the participants also created accessories to accompany the dress: a bag, a cap, a belt and a coat of arms of Françoise de Foix.

And through a multimedia device, you can discover behind the scenes images of the creation of this dress and browse the history of the golden room and Françoise de Foix. French sign language videos are also available.
